Present started as a collaboration project with bereaved people, partly tribute to the presence of absence, partly experiment on the power of objects and situations over our understanding of life. The dynamic power of the ideas, emotions and sensations connected with the absence of loved ones “haunting” the participants was used to enlighten their conceptions and their consciousness (or unconsciousness) of this relation, through objects that already existed and those of our creation. The participants took part in the concept as well as in the making of the art work. Their personalities and their idiosyncratic ways of grieving was taken into account. The result of the work stayed with the participants.
In theory, the collaboration would have started with the Tinkerette showing up as “The Flying Muse” at the participant's door with her equipment and a «menu» giving inspiring projects examples, but it was never so. Instead, people preferred to come to her studio, randomly over the years and it keeps going on.
